Tragedy struck early Sunday morning in Palobera village, Seraikela-Kharsawan district, when a speeding dumper carrying stone chips veered off the road and crashed into a thatched hut. The impact resulted in the dumper overturning onto the house, leading to the immediate deaths of the resident, Birbal Murmu (30), and his young daughter, Anushri, who were inside the dwelling.
Birbal's wife narrowly escaped the catastrophic collision with only minor injuries. Emergency services were alerted, and authorities promptly arrived at the scene. The overturned vehicle was eventually removed, and the deceased were transported to the Seraikela sadar hospital for postmortem examinations.
The injured wife was admitted to the hospital for treatment and observation. The Kandra police station is investigating the incident, with the OC Binod Kumar Murmu confirming the details and the ongoing process of recovery and investigation following the harrowing event.
