A jet wash operator, Jack McDermott, is being called a hero after rescuing a woman whose car caught fire on the M25 motorway. Hannah James was traveling near Heathrow on January 26 when her Audi suddenly lost power, and the engine erupted in flames. McDermott, who was also on the motorway, swiftly stopped his van and used his jet wash equipment to tackle the fire before it could spread further.
James expressed immense gratitude, stating she was eternally grateful for McDermott's intervention. He remained with her until the fire service arrived, who then utilized his equipment to cool the car's engine. McDermott explained he felt compelled to help, knowing he had water and the necessary tools readily available. The incident, while resulting in significant damage to the car, also led to the successful rescue of expensive horse-riding equipment from inside the vehicle.
