A devastating road accident in Jalandhar on Sunday morning resulted in the deaths of two young friends. The victims, identified as Vidit Olak and Aarav Talwar, were traveling home from a birthday party in the early hours.
Their vehicle, a Volkswagen, collided with a tractor-trolley belonging to the Municipal Corporation. The sanitation workers had parked the vehicle on the flyover near the Police Lines area to collect garbage. The crash occurred when the car, traveling from BMC Chowk towards BSF Chowk, struck the stationary trolley.
Vidit Olak was the nephew of renowned singer Yo Yo Honey Singh and the son of Dinesh, who owns the music company Speed Records. Aarav Talwar was the son of the owner of Pappy Sweets, a prominent local business. While Olak and Talwar succumbed to their injuries, three other occupants of the car had already departed from the gathering earlier. The police were informed of the incident around 3 am, and after taking the bodies into custody, they were handed over to the families who opted not to pursue further legal action.
