Eyewitnesses and security officials reported that the attacker, after being stopped by guards at the main gate and firing shots, managed to detonate explosives about 20 meters inside the premises. More than 130 people sustained injuries, many critically, prompting an emergency response at local hospitals.
Rescuers described scenes of chaos, with numerous injured individuals crying out for help. The sheer volume of casualties led authorities to transfer some patients to medical facilities in the neighboring city of Rawalpindi. Security agencies have cordoned off the area as rescue and recovery operations commenced.
