Survivor Denies EV Fire Cause in Indore Tragedy
20 Mar
Summary
- Survivor disputes police claim that EV charging caused the deadly fire.
- Eight family members perished in the early Wednesday morning blaze.
- Probe ordered by Chief Minister Mohan Yadav into the incident.

Eight members of a family were killed in a fire that erupted early Wednesday morning at the home of businessman Manoj Pugalia in Indore's Brajeshwari Annexe Colony. The deceased include Pugalia, his daughter-in-law Simran, and six other relatives. His son, Saurabh Pugalia, escaped with three others.
Contrary to police assertions that an EV charging point explosion triggered the fire, Saurabh Pugalia stated the vehicle was not connected to the charger that day. He suggested a blast near an electric pole may have been the cause. Saurabh also refuted claims of electronic locks delaying rescue, alleging that timely emergency response could have saved lives.
Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has ordered a comprehensive investigation into the circumstances surrounding the tragic incident.
