Initial reports indicate that a storm system spawned a tornado near Newburgh around 9 p.m., causing damage to an apartment complex and a shopping center. Further north, in Gibson County, a likely tornado left a path of destruction, with some homes reportedly "completely obliterated."

Emergency management agencies and local officials are coordinating cleanup and damage assessment efforts across Warrick and Gibson counties. In Warrick County, areas like Newburgh, Chandler, and Lynnville are experiencing downed power lines and debris blocking roads. Two apartment complexes sustained damage, displacing residents who have been provided shelter assistance. The Sheriff's office reported damage primarily in Newburgh and an area north of Chandler, where fallen trees and power lines were significant.

Across the region, multiple tornado warnings were issued, with preliminary reports compiling at least 11 tornado incidents across four Indiana counties and four more in Southern Illinois.
