On October 3rd, 2025, severe floods along the Amochu River in Bhutan left several families stranded and in need of urgent assistance. The Royal Government of Bhutan immediately reached out to the Indian Army for help, and the Indian military responded swiftly.
According to the reports, four workers positioned at the far end of the riverbank were initially trapped and unable to be reached by local rescue teams. Early reports had suggested two of them were missing, with one feared washed away and the other unaccounted for. The Indian Army quickly sent two helicopters to the site, which arrived around 12:55 PM on the same day. The stranded workers were then airlifted safely to the CST ground and taken to the hospital for medical care.
Later, it was confirmed that the two workers initially reported missing were found alive. As the weather conditions improved, a Bhutanese helicopter was also able to airlift one more individual who had earlier been believed to be washed away.
The Royal Government of Bhutan has expressed its heartfelt appreciation and deep gratitude to the Indian Army for their timely and life-saving assistance during this crisis.
