A tragic incident occurred in Hyderabad's Gachibowli area when an alleged unauthorised eight-storey building collapsed on Saturday afternoon. The disaster claimed the lives of at least two people, with two others sustaining injuries from falling debris.
Rescue operations commenced immediately, involving teams from HYDRAA, NDRF, fire services, and the police. The collapsed structure was reportedly built on a plot measuring only 50 to 60 square yards, with officials suspecting it was constructed over a drain without proper permissions.
