Producer's Driver Hits Pedestrian, Family Denied Aid

On Wednesday evening in Abids, Hyderabad, a woman named Sunitha was seriously injured after being struck by a car driven by the driver of a Tollywood producer. The victim, a resident of Nampally and a housekeeping staff member at a government bank, was walking on the road when the parked electric vehicle suddenly accelerated and hit her.

Locals apprehended the driver at the scene. Sunitha was promptly transported to a hospital for treatment. Her family sought financial assistance for her medical expenses from the film producer, as the car belonged to him.

However, the producer reportedly denied responsibility, suggesting the family file a case directly against the driver. An audio recording of this alleged conversation later surfaced. The driver claimed he was returning after dropping the producer's wife, a statement the producer denied.

Authorities have initiated legal proceedings, registering a case under Section 125(a) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. The incident and the subsequent alleged refusal of aid have drawn significant public attention, amplified by circulating CCTV footage.
