A parking garage located at the intersection of San Felipe Street and East Briar Hollow Lane in Houston's River Oaks area collapsed over the weekend. First responders arriving at the scene discovered one vehicle trapped within the debris. Fortunately, the occupant of the vehicle was able to exit safely and was assessed by paramedics.
Initial assessments by authorities suggest that a collapsed HVAC cooling tower may have triggered the catastrophic failure of the parking structure, resulting in a significant pancake collapse.
