Tragedy marred Holi celebrations as one individual lost their life due to a severe assault, with multiple other injuries reported across Mumbai's hospitals. Sion Hospital declared a patient deceased after they were brought in with injuries sustained from an attack by approximately 8-10 people.
This incident contributed to the 18 Holi-related cases recorded at Sion Hospital, which included blunt trauma and abrasions. BYL Nair Hospital managed eight cases, predominantly involving eye injuries and head trauma. KEM Hospital treated 11 patients for various injuries, including those from water balloons.
Cooper Hospital also reported 10 cases of Holi-linked injuries, primarily blunt trauma and facial burns. Overall, the most frequent injuries across all facilities were head and limb trauma, eye injuries, burns, and bhang intoxication. Barring the fatal assault, all other individuals were reported to be in stable condition.
