Tragedy struck on Sunday near Shahtalai in Himachal Pradesh's Bilaspur district when a private bus carrying pilgrims overturned, resulting in the deaths of two devotees and injuries to seven others. The bus, with 35 passengers aboard, was en route from the Baba Balak Nath Temple in Deotsidh and Shahtalai back to Amritsar, Punjab.
Officials reported that the driver lost control of the vehicle, leading to the accident. Deputy Commissioner Bilaspur Rahul Kumar confirmed that the deceased succumbed to their injuries during treatment at Barsar Hospital. Immediate relief and rescue efforts were launched by the district administration, police, and health department.
Among the injured, three are in serious condition. One has been referred to PGI Chandigarh, while two others are undergoing treatment at Medical College Hamirpur. Four passengers sustained minor injuries and are being treated at Barsar Hospital. The administration is closely monitoring the situation and prioritizing medical care for all victims.
