Two individuals lost their lives and five sustained injuries following a severe collision between a car and a school bus on Monday morning. The incident occurred between Kakodi and Alhaipur in Hathras district. The car was transporting seven labourers who were returning from Kasganj after a pilgrimage.
The victims, identified as the car's driver and his father, succumbed to their injuries. The collision, which significantly damaged both vehicles, left the car's occupants trapped. Alerted by their cries, local residents summoned the police, who arrived to transport the injured to Bagla Hospital.
Authorities have taken custody of both vehicles involved in the crash. While the injured labourers continue to receive medical attention, the school bus driver has fled and is currently being sought by police. Initial findings suggest that the car driver might have fallen asleep at the wheel, leading to the loss of control and the fatal impact.
