In 2025, the Haryana government facilitated cashless medical treatment for 4,179 individuals injured in road accidents. This initiative is part of a nationwide scheme by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, with the Haryana police serving as the nodal agency. Each accident victim is entitled to free treatment up to ₹1.5 lakh, covering a period of seven days post-accident.
To ensure swift medical attention, 1,228 hospitals across Haryana were empanelled under this program. The scheme, launched as a pilot project in October 2024, operates in coordination with the National Health Authority and local health departments. Complementing these efforts, the police have identified and are working to rectify 339 'black spots' known for frequent accidents, with many already improved.
Further enhancing road safety, Haryana police inspected 26,931 school buses in 2025, issuing 5,909 challans for violations. Additionally, 600 illegal road cuts identified in 2024 are being addressed, with 411 already closed. These measures underscore a commitment to making roads safer for the public.
