- Authorities warn social media views don't show terrain challenges.

Three individuals were rescued on Saturday evening after becoming disoriented on Butser Hill in Hampshire while attempting to find viral Highland cows. The rescue operation was prompted by challenging weather conditions and fading daylight.
Fire and ambulance crews utilized a 4x4 vehicle and the what3words app to locate the group swiftly. Station manager Steve Jenkins emphasized that social media often showcases idyllic scenery but fails to convey the significant physical effort and preparation required to access such locations.
Jenkins further advised that the terrain, covered in thick gorse and made slippery by wet weather, poses risks of slips, falls, and hypothermia. He highlighted that exposed downland environments can experience rapid changes in conditions, urging visitors to be properly prepared to avoid incidents.
