A celebratory birthday drive ended in severe injury for a 32-year-old man in Greater Noida. The incident occurred around 4:35 am on September 5, when the victim, Himanshu Rai, was struck by a white SUV while crossing Ek Murti Chowk. A rear-view camera captured the shocking moment the collision propelled him into the air.
He sustained significant injuries, including fractures to his legs, hand, knees, and spine. The driver of the SUV, identified as 24-year-old management student Priyanshu, fled the scene but was arrested on September 14. The vehicle involved, a Tata Punch, has been impounded.
This hit-and-run follows another recent incident in Gurgaon, where a biker was deliberately targeted. In that case, the driver was arrested in Rajasthan, and charges were upgraded to attempted murder following video evidence.
