Glasgow Central Fully Reopens Two Weeks After Blaze
23 Mar
Summary
- All platforms at Glasgow Central Station are set to fully reopen on Wednesday.
- A fire in a vape shop on March 8th caused a nearby building to collapse.
- The station's Gordon Street entrance remains closed due to ongoing work.

Glasgow Central Station is preparing for a full reopening of all its platforms on Wednesday, marking a significant recovery two weeks after a severe fire. The incident on March 8th saw a blaze originating in a local vape shop spread rapidly, causing the adjacent B-listed Victorian building on Union Street to collapse.
Network Rail has confirmed that all ScotRail and cross-border services will resume normal operations at Scotland's busiest railway hub. This follows a partial reopening last week that allowed some services to run. However, the station's prominent front entrance on Gordon Street will remain inaccessible to the public as demolition and clearance work continues.
