A 17-year-old girl in Bhopal tragically lost her life on Sunday, February 7th, after mistakenly consuming rat poison. The student, Vaishnavi Sen, a Class 12 pupil, was performing a morning puja at her home's temple in the Lambakheda area of Eintkhedi.
During the ritual, she unknowingly ingested rat poison that her mother had placed in the temple to eliminate rats. Vaishnavi believed the poison was sacred ash, or vibhuti. Shortly after returning from her coaching classes, her condition worsened significantly, leading to her death.
The girl was able to communicate the circumstances of the fatal ingestion to the police while receiving medical treatment.
