Tragedy struck in Gaya on Sunday morning as two individuals aspiring for civil court attendant positions were fatally hit by a speeding sand-laden tractor. The incident occurred near the Shani temple, close to the Gaya Junction, while the victims were walking towards the railway station. Ramesh Kumar of Muzaffarpur and Ashutosh Kumar of Bhojpur were identified as the deceased.
Eyewitnesses reported that the tractor, moving at high speed, first struck the two men and then collided with a roadside food cart, causing significant damage to the owner's property. The accident prompted an immediate protest by locals, who blocked the road to voice their anger over the hazardous movement of sand-laden tractors.
Authorities intervened to pacify the protesters and clear the blockade. The driver of the tractor has been apprehended, and the vehicle has been seized. Investigations are underway, and the bodies of the victims have been sent for post-mortem examination at Anugrah Narayan Magadh Medical College and Hospital.
