A heroic passer-by rescued a man from Connaught Water in Epping Forest, Essex, after the man fell through ice while attempting to save a dog on Sunday afternoon. The rescue attempt turned perilous as the rescuer also ended up in the freezing water.
Video footage captured the tense moments as both men struggled before managing to reach safety. They were treated by paramedics, and one was transported to Whipps Cross Hospital. The dog involved was safely returned to its owners.
