An intense fire erupted early Sunday morning outside Fort Worth when an 18-wheel fuel tanker collided with another vehicle. The tanker was transporting a substantial load of 9,000 gallons of gasoline at the time of the crash.
The driver of the truck sustained burns and was transported to the hospital, where they are currently in critical condition. Fire department officials confirmed the driver's efforts to prevent the gasoline from draining into a nearby gas station's parking lot prior to the ignition.
Fire crews worked diligently for about six hours to extinguish the flames and manage the gasoline spill. They utilized water to douse the fire and employed sand to construct dams, successfully containing the fuel runoff from spreading further. The scene was cleared around 7 AM.
