A woman in Central Florida died from blunt force trauma during a brutal alligator attack. The incident occurred on June 28 in the Econlockhatchee River, within the Little Big Econ State Forest. The victim, identified as 31-year-old Brittany Clark, was swimming with her boyfriend and a friend when a large alligator attacked her arm.
The autopsy report detailed how the alligator initiated a deadly 'death roll', pulling Clark underwater multiple times. Her boyfriend fought the animal in a desperate rescue attempt before managing to bring her back to shore. Despite immediate CPR and hospitalization, Clark succumbed to her severe injuries.
Wildlife officials captured two large alligators following the attack. Bite mark evidence from the alligator matched the jaw structure of one of these captured animals. Further DNA testing confirmed that a 13-foot alligator removed from the area was linked to Brittany Clark, concluding the investigation into the fatal encounter.
