Upon arrival, first responders found the father holding his daughter, who had sustained obvious injuries to her chest and arm. The mother was located inside the home with a gunshot wound to her leg. Both individuals were conscious and alert.
Emergency personnel administered critical care, including applying tourniquets to both victims and a chest seal to the young girl. The daughter was subsequently airlifted to Orlando Health Arnold Palmer, and the mother was transported to HCA Florida Lake Monroe Hospital for further medical attention.
Investigations into the event are ongoing, with preliminary findings supporting the father's account of an accidental shooting. As of Sunday, no criminal charges had been filed. The current conditions of the mother and daughter were not immediately available.
