Father's Hunger Strike Over Son's Crane Collapse Death

A father has commenced a hunger strike outside the Kashigaon police station, two days after his 21-year-old son was killed in a tower crane collapse. Aziz Khokar is demanding that the builder be named an accused in the case and that the charges against those responsible be upgraded. The tragic accident occurred on the night of July 16 at the J P Infra township in Mira Road during ongoing construction. The collapse of a tower crane tragically resulted in the death of Muzzamil, who was within the residential complex at the time.

Kashigaon police have registered cases against the contractor, sub-contractors, supervisors, and safety engineers under Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita Section 106, which deals with causing death by negligence. Khokar asserts the builder bears equal responsibility and should also face charges. Police have stated that the investigation is ongoing and appropriate actions will be taken against all identified responsible parties.
