A distressing incident unfolded in Lincoln Heights on Tuesday evening when a father and son were pulled from a local lake. Firefighters responded to Lincoln Park shortly after 6:30 p.m., successfully rescuing a 16-year-old boy from the water.
However, locating the father proved more challenging. After an extensive search, the man, believed to be around 60 years old, was found at the bottom of the lake approximately 30 minutes later. Paramedics immediately began CPR before transporting him to a hospital in an unresponsive condition. The teenager received treatment for injuries that are not life-threatening.
The circumstances leading to the father and son being in the water remain unclear as authorities investigate. Firefighters utilized specialized 'reach tools' during the operation. Three first responders sustained minor injuries and are expected to recover. The identity of the adult victim has not yet been released.
