A profound tragedy has struck Chettipunniyam village, near Singaperumal Koil, where a father has reportedly taken his own life in the same farm well where his young son drowned just two days prior. Lingam, 30, a driver, was discovered hanging from the steps within the agricultural well on Thursday morning after being reported missing.
This heartbreaking event follows the drowning of his five-year-old son, Yuvaraj, a UKG student, on Tuesday. The child had reportedly gone to search for his mother, who was grazing goats in nearby fields. It is suspected that Yuvaraj fell into the well while playing near its slushy edge. His body was later recovered after his toy was found floating in the water. Police are continuing their investigation into both incidents.
