Two Egg Harbor Township residents, Robert Barr, Jr., 54, and Alice Stilwell, 67, were fatally injured on August 22, 2026, in a head-on collision in the Mays Landing area. The incident took place around 7:30 a.m. on Route 50 in Hamilton Township, according to the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office.
The crash was reportedly caused by a vehicle driven by Nayshaun Brown, 18, of Atlantic City, who was accompanied by three juveniles. Brown and the youths face charges including conspiracy to commit aggravated assault, eluding, and receiving a stolen vehicle. Brown is also accused of employing a juvenile in the commission of a crime.
As of August 24, 2026, Brown is being held at the Atlantic County Jail. The judicial status of the juveniles varies, with one ordered held, another released, and a third awaiting a determination. The investigation is ongoing, and additional charges may be filed.
