A fatal rollover incident occurred early Sunday, June 15, 2026, on U.S. Highway 83 in Dimmit County, Texas. The crash happened approximately four miles north of Carrizo Springs around 3:16 a.m.
A 2024 Hyundai Sonata was traveling southbound when the driver lost control, crossed into the northbound lane, and left the roadway. The vehicle subsequently collided with a concrete embankment, causing it to roll over.
The driver, identified as 29-year-old Brandon Lee Frausto of Carrizo Springs, was ejected during the rollover. While lying in the northbound lane, Frausto was struck by a truck tractor whose driver was attempting to avoid the crashed Hyundai.
Frausto was pronounced dead at the scene. A passenger in the Hyundai sustained injuries and was taken to Dimmit Regional Hospital. The passenger's current condition remains undisclosed. The Texas Department of Public Safety is actively investigating the circumstances surrounding this fatal crash.
