Elderly Passenger Killed in Motorcycle-Lorry Collision

A woman in her 70s tragically lost her life following a serious collision between a motorcycle and a lorry. The incident occurred on Wednesday evening, approximately 16:55 BST, at the Mireystock Crossroads on the A4136 near Upper Lydbrook, within Gloucestershire's Forest of Dean.
Emergency services responded swiftly to the scene. Tragically, the passenger of a grey Moto Guzzi motorcycle, identified as a woman in her 70s, was pronounced deceased at the location. The rider of the motorcycle, a man also in his 70s, sustained injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment. His condition is currently being monitored.
The driver of the white Nissan dropside lorry involved in the crash was fortunately unharmed. Gloucestershire Constabulary has stated that they will take a statement from the motorcycle rider once he is medically able to provide one. The lorry driver also provided an account of the collision.
Following the collision, several roads in the vicinity were temporarily closed to facilitate a thorough investigation by collision reconstruction officers. These roads have since been reopened. Investigators are actively seeking any individuals who may have witnessed the crash or possess relevant dashcam footage to come forward and assist with the ongoing inquiry.
