A tragic collision between a motorcycle and a pickup truck in Orange Park has resulted in one fatality. The incident occurred Friday night on Moody Avenue when the motorcycle, carrying two people, attempted to pass a pickup truck traveling in the same direction.
The driver of the pickup truck made a left turn simultaneously as the motorcycle initiated its pass on the left side. This maneuver led to the motorcycle colliding with the truck. The motorcycle rider was declared dead at the scene.
The passenger on the motorcycle sustained serious injuries and was transported to a hospital. The two individuals in the pickup truck did not report any injuries. The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating the crash, and all lanes of Moody Avenue at Whipple Avenue were closed.
