Fatal M40 Crash: Motorcyclist Arrested, Passenger Dies

A tragic collision on the M40 claimed the life of a 19-year-old woman. The incident occurred on Saturday, February 22nd, 2026, around 8:40 PM GMT, on the London-bound carriageway in Buckinghamshire, between junctions four and three.
The crash involved a grey motorcycle, a black Volkswagen Polo, and a blue Hyundai Tucson. The pillion passenger on the motorcycle suffered critical injuries and was transported to the hospital, where she sadly died on Wednesday, February 25th, 2026.
Authorities have arrested the 20-year-old male rider of the motorcycle. He was taken into custody on suspicion of dangerous driving and causing serious injury by dangerous driving. He has since been released on police bail pending further investigation, scheduled until May 12th, 2026.
Thames Valley Police are appealing for witnesses and anyone with dashcam footage to come forward. The drivers of the two cars involved are cooperating with the investigation, and no other injuries were reported.
