A fatal hit-and-run occurred early Sunday morning near the Sedgwick County Zoo, claiming the life of a 29-year-old Wichita man. The victim's identity has not yet been released by authorities.
The incident happened just after midnight in the 5800 block of West Windmill Road. Witnesses at the scene provided aid after the vehicle involved, identified as a black Dodge Ram 1500 pickup, left the area.
Investigators from the Sheriff's Office Major Crash Team are seeking public assistance. Based on debris, they suspect the vehicle is a model between 2013 and 2022 and was last seen heading west on Windmill Road.
