A deadly hit-and-run incident has left authorities investigating the early Saturday morning death of a pedestrian in Jurupa Valley. The collision was reported shortly after midnight near the intersection of Van Buren Boulevard and Jurupa Road.
Deputies responding to the scene discovered 22-year-old Sean Heiderich suffering from severe injuries. The Los Angeles man was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.
Authorities conducted a search for the suspect vehicle, described as a sedan with significant front-end damage, but were unsuccessful in locating it. The color of the sedan is currently unknown.
Investigators are working to determine the cause of the crash and have not yet confirmed if alcohol or drugs were contributing factors. Van Buren Boulevard between Jurupa Road and Limonite Avenue was closed for several hours to allow for a thorough scene investigation.
