A woman tragically lost her life in a two-vehicle crash near Belfast International Airport on Saturday morning. The collision occurred on the Ballyrobin Road, a key route to the airport, shortly before 08:00 GMT.
The driver of a black Citroen C1 was pronounced deceased at the scene. The other vehicle involved was a Translink airport bus. The bus driver, a man in his 60s, was taken to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
The Northern Ireland Ambulance Service and police attended the incident. Several Translink bus services to and from the airport were cancelled due to the crash. The Ballyrobin Road remained closed throughout Saturday, causing considerable delays for travellers.
Police are investigating the circumstances of the collision and have appealed for witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to come forward. Traffic diversions were in place, and alternative routes were advised for those travelling to the airport.
