A fatal collision occurred on the A822 near Amulree in Perthshire on Friday afternoon, claiming the life of the 78-year-old driver of a Volkswagen van. Emergency services responded swiftly to the single-vehicle incident, which took place around 12:20 PM.
Paramedics treated other occupants at the scene, while one passenger, a 58-year-old man, required air ambulance transport to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee. Police have secured the area and are conducting investigations into the cause of the crash.
Investigators are appealing to the public for assistance. Sergeant John McDiarmid urged anyone who witnessed the crash, saw the vehicle beforehand, or has relevant dash-cam footage from the A822 to contact the police. The road, closed for the investigation, reopened later that evening.
