A fatal crash occurred on the Indiana Toll Road late Monday night, resulting in the death of a 45-year-old woman and injuries to a passenger. The single-vehicle incident involved a box truck that was traveling westbound. For reasons yet to be determined, the truck left the roadway, entered the median, and overturned.
The driver, identified as Neda Meketa of Haslet, Texas, was pronounced deceased at the scene. A male passenger sustained minor injuries and was transported to a local hospital. Authorities have stated that drugs and alcohol are not believed to be contributing factors.
The Indiana State Police are continuing their investigation into the cause of the crash. The incident closed a portion of the toll road as emergency crews responded and investigators worked at the scene.
