Tragic ATV Collision Claims Life on Cherry Hill Road

A tragic accident on Cherry Hill Road in Jasper County has resulted in a fatality. On May 24th, Antoine T. Johnson, a 31-year-old Ridgeland resident, passed away from injuries sustained in a collision involving two all-terrain vehicles (ATVs) and a truck carrying a trailer.
The incident, which occurred near the intersection of Bridgetown Drive, involved vehicles traveling in opposite directions. The truck was heading north, while the two ATVs were traveling south. Investigations reveal that one ATV struck the other before colliding with the truck.
The driver of the truck was unharmed, and the driver of the second ATV also sustained no injuries. Johnson, identified as the driver of the ATV that initially collided with the truck, was transported to Coastal Carolina Hospital but unfortunately later died.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol is actively investigating the circumstances surrounding this fatal crash. The community of Ridgeland mourns the loss of a young life due to this devastating event.
