A serious road accident occurred on Saturday night on the Delhi-Mathura National Highway in Faridabad, resulting in injuries to seven passengers. The incident took place around 10 PM near the YMCA flyover when a truck, allegedly travelling at high speed, breached the central divider. The truck then collided head-on with a Haryana Roadways bus en route to Delhi from Ballabgarh.
The impact severely damaged the front section of the bus, with those seated in front sustaining the most serious injuries. Local residents and police promptly assisted in rescuing the injured passengers from the mangled bus and transporting them to nearby medical facilities. The truck driver also suffered injuries.
Authorities have initiated an investigation into the cause of the collision. Police are examining CCTV footage and gathering evidence to determine if the truck driver was under the influence of alcohol or had fallen asleep at the wheel. A mechanical fault is also being considered as a potential factor. The injured passengers received treatment and were later discharged, while the truck driver was taken into custody after receiving initial medical care.
