Five loved ones and a set of cremains were accounted for and recovered from the burning structure. This swift action by staff, including Tamarkus Cook's cousin Blake Cook, who was treated for smoke inhalation, ensured that grieving families would not face further distress. Blake Cook sustained an eye injury from chemicals present in the smoke.
The affected 12,000-square-foot building, acquired by Tamarkus Cook in 2019, is a significant loss. However, the funeral home maintains operations in Newnan, Fairburn, and Meriwether County. With the support of the community, Pastor Cook is determined to rebuild the Fairburn location and resume services for families in the area.
