On Tuesday morning, Everett firefighters executed a swift rescue of an individual who had fallen into a confined space aboard a vessel undergoing dry dock operations. The incident occurred at a shipyard located in the 2800 block of Terminal Avenue, where the man fell roughly four feet into a tank.

The confined space presented a significant challenge, being only 1.5 feet in diameter and extending approximately 20 feet down into the ship's structure. Fire department officials reported that the rescue was accomplished using specialized equipment and carefully planned procedures to ensure the safety of everyone involved.

Following his removal from the tank, the employee received immediate medical attention from Everett Fire Department EMS personnel on-site. Although his injuries were not life-threatening, he was transported to Providence Regional Medical Center Everett for further assessment and care. The entire rescue effort concluded within approximately 30 minutes.
