30 Aug
Summary
- Rescue efforts continue overnight for a vessel in distress.
- Five individuals are on board the distressed craft.
- Multiple agencies and civilian vessels are assisting the operation.

Rescue operations are continuing through the night for a vessel experiencing distress in the English Channel, with five people on board. The Maritime and Coastguard Agency confirmed that a helicopter, plane, and lifeboats were dispatched on Saturday evening to the area southwest of Eddystone Lighthouse, off Plymouth.
RNLI lifeboats from Falmouth and Plymouth have been joined by numerous civilian vessels, including several French fishing boats, in the coordinated rescue effort. By Sunday morning, approximately a dozen boats were observed clustered in the vicinity, with a HM Coastguard aircraft also monitoring the scene. The operation is proceeding under challenging weather conditions, with moderate to rough seas forecasted overnight. Forecasters also predicted the possibility of thundery showers and periods of deteriorating visibility, adding complexity to the search and rescue mission.
