A 45-year-old woman, identified as Munni Devi, lost her life and her two teenage sons sustained severe injuries in a shocking elephant attack. The incident occurred late on Friday along the Bichhia-Mihinpurwa road within the Katarniaghat Wildlife Division in Uttar Pradesh.
Munni Devi, along with her sons Karan (17) and Arjun (15), were traveling on a motorcycle when a tusker unexpectedly emerged from the forest. The elephant charged at them, fatally trampling the mother before disappearing back into the dense foliage. The sons managed to survive the ordeal but suffered serious injuries.
Local residents quickly provided assistance, transporting the injured to a private doctor where Munni Devi was pronounced dead. Forest department officials have confirmed the attack took place in the Nishangada range and have dispatched personnel to assess the situation. They are advising villagers and commuters to exercise extreme caution when traveling through forest areas.
