Emergency crews rushed to a residential fire late Saturday night, responding to a blaze near Colony Dr and Charlton Rd. The Edmond Fire Department and Oklahoma City Fire Department worked in tandem to extinguish the flames.
Upon arrival, first responders found two residents already safely outside the burning structure. An Edmond Police Department officer bravely rescued a third resident from within the smoke-filled home. This individual required medical attention and was transported to a nearby hospital to be treated for smoke inhalation.
Firefighters located the primary source of the fire in the garage, which sustained heavy damage and was declared a total loss. The incident was brought under control within approximately 20 minutes. A dog discovered inside the residence was successfully rescued and administered oxygen on-site.
