A significant fire broke out at a large detached property in Eppleworth, East Yorkshire, in the early hours of Tuesday, February 10, 2026. Humberside Fire and Rescue Service received the report around 12:45 GMT and dispatched multiple crews to the scene on Westfield Road, near Cottingham.
Upon arrival, firefighters found the blaze to be well-established. The fire service confirmed that there were no occupants in the property at the time, and thankfully, no injuries were reported. During the firefighting efforts, the property's roof, which was already unstable, collapsed.
In total, eight fire engines, an aerial ladder platform, a drone, and two specialist vehicles were deployed. Approximately 41 firefighters and officers were involved in tackling the intense fire. Crews worked diligently to ensure the blaze was fully extinguished and to prevent any potential reignition.
