Tragically, fatalities have occurred, including a 13-year-old on an unregistered e-motorcycle and an 81-year-old pedestrian struck by a 14-year-old rider.

Aliza Nichols, founder of It Needs to End, champions safety education over e-bike bans, noting that many young riders lack formal training. Her organization offers safety courses in middle schools. Parents are cautioned by Dr. Spurrier to exercise common sense, likening e-bike responsibility to that of motorcycles.
