A tragic road traffic collision involving a bus and pedestrians occurred in Dublin on North Earl Street. The incident, which happened shortly after 12:30 PM, resulted in one fatality and three individuals being transported to the hospital. An Garda Siochana and Dublin Fire Brigade responded promptly.
The crash took place near the junction of Talbot Street and Marlborough Street. Emergency responders established a cordon, and a tent was erected at the site. The front of the double-decker bus sustained visible damage with its front window smashed. This event led to the suspension of Luas Green Line services between Parnell Street and St Stephen's Green.
Dublin Fire Brigade reported a significant response, with over 20 firefighter/paramedics and advanced paramedics deployed. The bus, operated by Bus Eireann, was reportedly not in service at the time of the incident. Bus Eireann stated they are fully supporting the authorities in their investigation.
