College Bus Crash Claims Young Life

A 15-year-old schoolgirl lost her life following a devastating road accident in Tirunelveli. The incident occurred on Friday morning, February 20, when a private engineering college bus, driven by Isakkiyappan, 30, collided with an auto-rickshaw. The auto was ferrying schoolchildren at the time. The collision took place on the Tirunelveli-Kadayam road near Suthamalli.
Emergency services transported the injured to Tirunelveli government Medical College Hospital. Investigations by authorities revealed that the bus driver was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash. He was subsequently arrested by the Suthamalli police. The young student succumbed to a severe head injury on Monday night. Two other children and the auto-rickshaw driver remain hospitalized, with their conditions reported as stable.
