Bus Crash in California Mountains Leaves Dozens Injured

On the evening of November 10, 2025, a bus carrying 36 people crashed on a winding mountain road in Southern California. The incident occurred on State Route 330 near the town of Running Springs, about 70 miles northeast of Los Angeles.

According to the San Bernardino County Fire Department, the bus was on its side when first responders arrived at the scene. Passengers had managed to escape through a roof hatch. In total, 26 patients were treated, with 20 of them transported to nearby hospitals, 3 of whom had sustained major injuries.

The bus was part of a group from Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Santa Ana, returning from a three-day youth retreat at Camp Nawakwa in the San Bernardino Mountains. Cyntia Ramirez, a 21-year-old community college student, was among those hospitalized, suffering from a stiff neck, while her sister had a fractured arm.

Ramirez recounted the terrifying moments leading up to the crash, saying the bus suddenly started shaking and swerving before the driver lost control, causing the vehicle to topple over. A youth leader was able to pull her out of the roof hatch as the bus lay on its side.

Authorities have launched an investigation into the cause of the accident, which led to the closure of State Route 330 in both directions. Some of the passengers returned to the church the following day to retrieve their belongings.
