Trevor Rees-Jones, the bodyguard and sole survivor of the 1997 fatal car crash that claimed Princess Diana, Dodi Fayed, and driver Henri Paul, has successfully rebuilt his life. The high-speed collision occurred in Paris on August 31, 1997, when the vehicle crashed into a concrete column while evading paparazzi.
Rees-Jones sustained catastrophic injuries, with his face so severely fractured it required extensive reconstruction using more than 30 metal screws and plates. Diana was pronounced dead hours later, leaving Rees-Jones as the only living witness to the tragic event.
Following his recovery, Rees-Jones has pursued a career in security, working for various organizations including the UN and Halliburton. He has largely lived out of the public eye, remarrying and residing in England with his family.
He previously denied conspiracy theories surrounding the crash, notably those promoted by Dodi's father, Mohamed Al-Fayed. An official inquest later concluded the crash was a tragic accident.
