A fire incident in northwest Delhi's Swaroop Nagar on Sunday morning resulted in injuries to six individuals, including three children, who reportedly jumped from a building in panic to escape the flames. The fire started at approximately 11:30 AM in a building that housed a gym on the ground floor and a manufacturing unit for judo uniforms and boxing gloves on the upper floors.
Although no one was inside the affected building when the fire broke out, smoke and heat from the blaze, amplified by strong winds, caused panic among residents of an opposite building. Six people sustained injuries after jumping from their building. Among the injured were Priyanka, her two daughters, Santosh, her daughter Tanvi, and Vijay.
Firefighters were dispatched to the scene and successfully brought the blaze under control. The cause of the fire remains under investigation. Local residents reportedly assisted in rescuing several people using ladders and attempted to douse the flames. Concerns were raised about the legality of the factory operating in a residential area for the past three to four years.
